Home Stretch Workshop
Free yourself from some of the complications and stress of buying a home by participating in a Home Stretch Workshop.In one day, you will learn about qualifying for a mortgage, financing a home, budget
and credit issues, real estate, the closing process, basic home maintenance and affordable mortgage products that may be available to first-time homebuyers. Some affordable mortgage products, first-time homebuyer products, and government loans may require a buyer to receive a Home Stretch certificate.
Registration is required and participants will receive a completion certificate at the end of the day.

Mystery Quilt 2015
Calling all quilters! A new pattern has been chosen so let the mystery begin. The first clue will be given out Jan. 6th. You will quilt at home, but we will have a lunch show and tell. Let’s get quilting!

ServSafe – Food Managers
ServSafe is a nationally recognized food safety course. The course meets the Food Manager Certification requirement for the State of MN and WI. Content include the need and benefits of an effective safety plan, how food becomes contaminated, how to control these risks, and protect your business, employment, food and customers. Participants will test for a ServSafe Certification. Class size: 12-25.

Walk the Hallways
The hallways of the HFHS are available to walkers for FREE. You must stop by or call the Community Education Office to be put on the walker list. There is no walking on the days when school isn’t in session.

Men’s Recreation Basketball
Men, do you need a place to get a little exercise? Join us for an evening of basketball. There is no registration required. Just bring tennis shoes and show up to have a good time. This is an on-going event, so remember to add it to your weekly schedule. No High School students allowed.

Senior Driver Classes
MHSRC 55+ Driver Improvement Class - Refresher Course
Gene Carlson - MN Hwy Safety Center instructor
For those that are 55 yrs and over and have taken the initial class before. The class will explore changes in laws, the latest vehicle technology, and provide you with easy-to-use defensive driving tips. In addition, we will explore traffic safety and accident prevention. The classroom course allows for a 10% reduction in your insurance rate (check with your local insurance agent). Please pre-register at least one week prior. The local insurance office does provide refreshments and door prizes. A minimun of 12 are needed for the class

Science Explorers’ Extreme Chemical Concoctions--Mystery Challenges! Gr K-5
Are you ready to get messy with extreme concoctions? Then step into the science lab to solve our mystery challenges. You will need to investigate polymers, rates or reaction, density, chemical indicators and more to help solve the mysteries. Our classes are hands-on...so be sure to dress for a mess! Minimum of 10 needed for the class.

5th Annual Father/Daughter Dance
Sponsored by HF Community Education
Get your dancing shoes on! Fathers do not miss this opportunity to strengthen your relationship with your daughter. Daughters are welcome to bring another adult male role model if their father is unable to attend. The cost of this event includes: appetizers & desserts, a 5x7 keepsake photo, dancing to music provided by Pro Sound & Lights, and of course the lifetime memory.

Here is your chance for some hands-on Mother/Son time. Meet us at the Audubon Center of the North Woods to participate in “Survivor: North Woods”. Here you will work in small groups to try and survive in the great outdoors. You will be building a shelter, starting a fire and packing survival gear in this 3 hour adventure. Class size is limited.
