NEW!!!  Driver Education in the Classroom & Behind the Wheel
 
Hinckley-Finlayson Community Education now provides classroom and behind-the-wheel driver’s education instruction for students ages 15 and older outside the normal school day.
 
State law requires that each student completes 30 hours of the classroom portion of Driver Education and students must be at least 15 years of age on or before the date of their last class.  Our classes last for three hours on a ten day schedule and are taught by teachers with both a teaching license and a driver education certificate.
 
Behind the Wheel time (6 hours) will be scheduled between the instructors and students, once a blue card has been received. 
 
Contact HF Community Education 320-384-7325 to get on the list for the next available class.  Classroom portion currently scheduled Saturday mornings 8-11 am & Monday Evenings from 5-8 pm for 5 weeks.

Free yourself from some of the complications and stress of buying a home by participating in a Home Stretch Workshop.In one day, you will learn about qualifying for a mortgage, financing a home, budget

and credit issues, real estate, the closing process, basic home maintenance and affordable mortgage products that may be available to first-time homebuyers.  Some affordable mortgage products, first-time homebuyer products, and government loans may require a buyer to receive a Home Stretch certificate.

 

Registration is required and participants will receive a completion certificate at the end of the day.

ServSafe – Food Managers

ServSafe is a nationally recognized food safety course. The course meets the Food Manager Certification requirement for the State of MN and WI. Content include the need and benefits of an effective safety plan, how food becomes contaminated, how to control these risks, and protect your business, employment, food and customers. Participants will test for a ServSafe Certification. Class size: 12-25.

Parent Tot classes are for parents and children ages 6 months to 6 years who need extra support in the water. Preschool level is for children ages 4-6 who can be away from parent.  Arm floaties will be used. Red Cross swimming lessons are for  children 6 yrs of age by 1/1/14.  

If a snow day occurs, classes will be held on Saturday, January 10th in the morning.

For those that are 55 yrs and over and have taken the initial class before.  The class will explore changes in laws, the latest vehicle technology, and provide you with easy-to-use defensive driving tips.  In addition, we will explore traffic safety and accident prevention.  The classroom course allows for a 10% reduction in your insurance rate (check with your local insurance agent). Please pre-register at least one week prior. The local insurance office does provide refreshments and door prizes. A minimun of 12 are needed for the class

YOUTH CLASSES

MEET ME AT THE POOL & LET’S MAKE SOME WAVES!

Due to a generous donation from the Hinckley Lions Club;  All Hinckley-Finlayson Students in grades K-12 are able to attend Open Swimming at the Hinckley Pool during the month of January for FREE.  Pool Rules will be followed.  Remember Swimmers under 48 inches in height must enter the pool with a paid adult and be within arms reach of the swimmer.  To be allowed in the deeper end of the pool a swim test across the length of the pool must be completed first.

ELEMENTARY BASKETBALL


 

Looking for something to do this winter?  Join our Jaguar     Elementary Basketball Program!  This program is for both new and seasoned ballers.  Grades 1-3 will all take place at Hinckley-Finlayson High School or Hinckley Elementary.  Grades 4-6 will practice at Hinckley-Finlayson High School or Hinckley Elementary, but for most leagues and tournaments we will be travelling to other schools. Practice dates, times and more information will be distributed in school.
