Map of Location
The Hinckley-Finlayson District is a rural school district, located in east-central MN, about 100 miles north of the twin cities metropolitan area. We have a diverse student population of nearly 1000 students k-12.
Our district pledge is to be the place where every student is known, valued and challenged to succeed. In order to accomplish this goal, the district has made it a priority to maintain a low student to teacher ratio, focus on differentiated instruction, promote extra curricular involvement, grow in our implementation of educational technology, advance our engineering, coding and robotics programs, and encourage high fine arts involvement; all while maintaining a healthy district fund balance.
We are proud to mention our student accomplishments. Our average ACT scores and graduation rates are well above the national averages.

I am a graduate of Hinckley High School have worked in the school district for 41 years - starting after high school as environmental ed secretary and then as high school secretary. I moved to the district office in 1996 and took over payroll in 2004. I have watched many changes to the buildings and technology. I have also been fortunate to meet and work with many great people over the years and have seen many of them come and then retire!! Soon it might be might turn!!
I have two sons and daughters-in-law, as well as 6 grandchildren. I enjoy my annual 'canoe girls' trip to the Boundary Waters, fishing, being outdoors and most anything creative. In my 'spare' time I am part of a local band "The Lyon and the Ladies".
