Mrs. Becvar has been part of the Hinckley-Finlayson staff as an English teacher for 31 years. She teaches Voyager I & Voyager III Reading, English 7, Reading Skills 7, AP English Language & Composition, and College Creative Writing.
Mrs. Becvar graduated from the University of MN, Mankato (formerly Mankato State University)in 1985 with a BS degree in English education and a concentration in writing, Mrs. Becvar not only remains current in the writing field through continuing education, but also writes on a regular basis. Her first novel came out June 2012, her second novel June 2013, and her third novel was out on the 120th Anniversary of the Hinckley Fire, September 1, 2014. The fourth and final book of the series is slated to be out the summer of 2017. Mrs. Becvar has been married for thirty years. She and her husband, Jay, have 80 acres and raise chickens, cats, collies (rough and smooth) for show and companionship, and one collie wannabe. Both she and her husband enjoy nature, reading, camping, hiking, gardening, fishing, ATV riding, and traveling. |
Dan Kreft

Mr. Kreft began his teaching career in 1999 at Hinckley-Finlayson High School.
Mr. Kreft graduated from Sibley East High School in 1993. He earned his bachelor degree in English from St. John's University in 1997. He then attended The University of Iowa and earned his teaching certification in 1999. Mr Kreft earned his masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Thomas in 2003. Mr. Kreft is happily married to his wife Heather. They have two sons, Lucas and Harrison. Mr. Kreft enjoys playing and watching most sports, particularly basketball. In addition, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Mr. Kreft is also the Commissioner of a Fantasy Football League and the Hinckley Horseshoe League. He also is the Head Boys Basketball coach. |
Amanda Sleen
Mrs. Sleen has been teaching in the Hinckley-Finlayson School District since 2019.
Mrs. Sleen graduated from South High School in Minneapolis, MN in 2012. She earned her bachelor's degree in English writing from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 2017. Later that summer, she earned a publishing certificate from the Denver Publishing Institute. In 2019, she earned her teaching certificate from a master's program through Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. Mrs. Sleen has been serving in the Minnesota Army National Guard since 2011, where she met her husband, also serving in the National Guard. She helps support public events that happen on Camp Ripley in Little Falls, MN. In her free time, she likes to visit family in the twin cities, crochet, read, and camp |
Brooke Anderson

Mrs. Anderson has been teaching in the Hinckley-Finlayson School District since 2014.
Mrs. Anderson is a graduate of Hinckley-Finlayson High School, class of 2004. She earned a bachelor's of arts in English from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2007. After working for a website building and marketing company in Duluth for several years, she earned her teaching certificate through Bemidji State University's online FasTrack program in 2010. Mrs. Anderson finished her Master's of Arts in Teaching through Bemidji State in 2018. Mrs. Anderson is married with two girls, Celia and Evelyn, who keep her happy and busy. They own a farm in Barnum, MN, where they raise cattle, sheep and chickens. In her free time (whatever that is...), she enjoys reading, spending time at the cabin with friends and family, gardening, running, playing sports, eating delicious food and traveling to new places. |
