Q. How much does preschool cost?
There is currently no fee for the Hinckley-Finlayson Little Jag Preschool Program and ECFE classes are $1.
Q. Will my child be bussed?
If your child attends the full day program at Hinckley or Finalyson Elementary, they will have bus transportation to and from school using the regular bus routes. If you choose for your child to attend half days at Hinckley or Finlayson Elementary, you are responsible for picking up your child at the pre-arranged time.
Q. Is lunch provided?
All programs will offer a free breakfast and lunch food service is available for a fee consistent with the school lunch program for all students grades Kindergarten - 6th Grade.
Q. IS preschool required?
Preschool is not required for students. However, we feel that the academic and social experience that we can offer your student will help them have a more successful transition into Kindergarten.
Q. Which program is right for me?
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes are offered to children ages 0-5 and their parents. These classes are typically 60-90 minutes long. During these classes we offer theme-based learning activities for children and parents to participate in together, while socializing with other children of similar ages. Some of these classes will also offer a designated Parent Education time for parents to meet with each other and an instructor to discuss various parenting topics.
Little Jags Preschool is for children who have turned 4 by September 1st of the current year. (If your child is on an IEP and has turned 3 by September 1st of the current year, they may also be invited to attend preschool classes). During these classes we utilize a developmentally appropriate curriculum to help children enhance their skills in the areas of math, literacy, motor, emotional, and social development.

Q. Does my child need to be potty trained?
Unless your child is on an IEP (Individualized Educational Plan), they must be fully toilet-trained before attending preschool classes. If your child is on an IEP, any toileting concerns can be addressed with your child's case manager
