The Jaguar Technology Department
The place where every Student is Known, Valued & Challenged to Succeed
The vision of the Technology Department is to provide equitable and effective use of existing and emerging technology to engage, challenge, and nurture diverse learners in preparation for global citizenship in an increasingly complex information society.
Technology and information services includes:
Communications technology, desktop services, information services, instructional technology facilitators, media services & network services
Students and employees shall have access to the Internet through their classroom, library, or school computer lab. Students and their parent(s) / guardian(s) must sign an acceptable use consent form to be granted access to the Internet via the Hinckley-Finlayson computer network.
The Internet has become a valuable communication and learning tool for Hinckley-Finlayson staff and students. Below are links to some Internet safety resources that the district has found to help make that learning experience a safe journey.
Internet Safety - Nation Crime Prevention Center
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children

What does it mean to be a digital citizen?
Being online is second nature for young people today. Parents and students should take a minute or two to think about how to keep safe. Students probably know more about the technology than their parents - they should also be the safety expert. They'll need this knowledge for the rest of their life.
