Hinckley-Finlayson Schools are looking for bus para-professionals for the 2025-26 school year. The applicant hired for this position will work with students who have academic or behavioral needs.  Required qualifications include a 2-year college degree OR the ability to successfully pass the ParaPro Assessment. The Parapro test can be taken here and ISD2165 will reimburse for this testing fee after a 90 day probationary period. The starting wage would be $18.57 an hour,with the potential to go up from there, depending on school experience.

Hinckley-Finlayson High School and the Pine County Transition Program are looking for TWO paraprofessionals for this program for the 2025-26 school year.  

This position will work with students in our special education transition program with our 18 – 22 year old students.  This position supervises students in the community at volunteer worksites as well as provides academic support in the classroom.  This position is 5.5 hours/day from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm Monday through Friday.  The starting salary for this position is $18.57 an hour.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Principal and guidance of the Special Education Teacher, the Special Education Paraprofessional represents a broad grouping of varied positions providing instructional support, personal care and assistance to young adults in various programs and having varied special needs.  

Paras assigned to the Pine County Transition Program are expected to work with groups of students or 1:1 in the areas of instructional reinforcement and student learning assistance.  Depending upon student needs, responsibilities and duties may involve assisting and guiding students in the reinforcement of transition skill subjects, daily living skills, implementing behavioral plans and/or monitoring and enforcing appropriate behavior in accordance with instructional lesson plans and student IEPs.  Staff assigned to this role also provide assistance and support in terms of implementing curriculum to the special needs of each student by clearly repeating directions at the level the student understands, encouraging cooperation in classroom activities, communicating expectations, and modifying tasks into smaller steps, and assisting students with mobility, adaptive, or other special needs.  Lifting and assisting with personal care routines may also be required.

Hinckley-Finlayson High School is looking for TWO Para-Professionals.  The position involves attending classes with the student and providing both homework support as well as some behavioral support.  This position is 6.25 hours a day (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday).  The position is 5.25 hours a day on Wednesdays due to early release.  The starting salary for this position is $18.57 an hour.

Transportation

Hinckley-Finlayson School District is seeking a district wide Transportation Mechanic to maintain our bus and type 3 fleets.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older and have a valid MN driver’s license.  

  • Possess or be willing to obtain a MN Class B CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements (to be obtained within 6 months of being hired).  

Applicant Responsibilities:

  • Inspect/ diagnose mechanical and electrical problems.  

  • Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and extent of necessary repairs.  

  • Prioritize work and perform minor body repairs.  

  • Provide your own tools.  

  • Ability to understand local, state and federal vehicle maintenance DOT regulations.  

  • Ability to work/ communicate cooperatively and professionally with coworkers.  

  • Ability to work independently or as a team. 

  • Perform roadside services as needed.  

  • Be on call 24/7.  

  • Work well with various different vendors.  

  • Assist in finding/ ordering district vehicles.

  • Drive bus route as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs including brake drums, tires, ladders, and floor jacks, etc. when necessary.  

  • Crawl under vehicles.

  • Perform roadside services as needed.  

Pay/ Benefits:

This position is full time and year around.  Pay begins at $20.76 per hour which is Range VII according to our Support Staff Agreement but ultimately will be determined by experience.  Benefits include sick time, vacation time, holiday pay as well as health, dental and life insurance.  Retirement including 403(b) opportunities also available.  Please see the Support Staff Agreement.
