Job Summary:  Hinckley Elementary School is looking for an ECSE teacher for the 2023-24 school year.  This is a 1.0 FTE position.  Candidates plan for, develop and implement individualized education programs and instruction in academic areas in collaboration with other educational professionals and administrators.  Candidates work collaboratively with special services team members to support the needs of children from birth to K.  

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will possess an ECSE Minnesota teaching license. Preference will be given to candidates who hold this license and have experience teaching in this position.

Job Description

  • Develops and administers ELA curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
  • Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including students with special needs.
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by the district.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Coordinates with other professional staff members and participates in PLCs and other monthly meetings.

  • Communicates regularly with parents via Schoology, newsletters, phone calls, e-mails, conferences, etc.
  • Works in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Participating in building and department meetings and workshops in an effort to stay current with best teaching practices.
  • Participates in a professional learning community on a regular basis.
  • Integration of technology into instruction.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate skills in performing daily routines.

Job Description

Hinckley-Finlayson High School is in need of a teacher in our Alternative Learning Program (Empower Learning Center).  The position is a 1.0 FTE.  Preference will be given to the applicant who has experience working in an Alternative Learning Program.

The ALP teacher delivers academic programming in multiple content areas for high school students (9-12); develops and delivers engaging curricular content based on state and local standards; implements differentiated instruction with a focus on personalized learning; embeds social-emotional learning; various technologies and a variety of pedagogical approaches into daily activities; establishes effective classroom management with a focus on restorative practices; and communicates effectively with all stakeholders.

Hinckley-Finlayson High School is looking for a teacher who will work with students who have Work Based Learning as a class for the 2023-24 school year.  The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who want to earn credits while on the jobsite.  This is a 0.14 FTE position (1 class period a day).  The ideal candidate will possess a MN teaching license in Work Based Learning.  Salary based on Master Agreement.

Support Staff Positions

Hinckley Elementary School is searching for a Lead Custodian to begin as soon as possible.  
 
Description – the Lead Custodian at HES maintains the building and premises in a neat and clean manner.  The Lead Custodian also performs general cleaning and maintenance to provide pleasant and safe surroundings for staff and students.
 
Qualifications – Work with little or no supervision.  Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.  Ability to perform a variety of tasks in the cleaning and general maintenance of buildings and grounds and follow simple oral/written assignments.  Be in good physical health and endurance due to some heavy lifting and working on feet most of the day.  Must be able to clean up vomit and do all repairs.  Obtain the proper boiler license according to state law.  Must be able to supervise other employees and student workers.  
 
This position begins at $19.33 per hour and goes up from there based on school custodial experience.  Work days are Monday through Friday from 7:30 – 4:00 during the school year.  Summer hours may change.  Benefit package included with this position.
 
This position is open until filled.  Preference will be given to applicants who have plumbing experience, electrical experience, familiarity with HVAC systems, and familiarity with boilers.

Hinckley-Finlayson High School and the Pine County Transition Program are looking for a long term paraprofessional sub (through December 22, 2023) AND a regular para for this program beginning with the 2023-24 school year.  

This position will work with students in our special education transition program with our 18 – 21 year old students.  This position supervises students in the community at volunteer worksites as well as provides academic support in the classroom.  This position is 5.5 hours/day from 8:15 am – 2:15 pm Monday through Friday.  The starting salary for this position is $17.29 an hour.

Daily Duties

Sweep, mop, buff, wax and vacuum floors. 
Washing windows.
Clean and disinfect locker room bathrooms, classrooms and drinking fountains.
Empty waste baskets and haul out trash.
Set up equipment for sporting events, concerts and other meetings/events.
Observe stock levels of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor for reordering.
 
Working Conditions
Some heavy lifting, working with chemicals for cleaning that could be hazardous if handled incorrectly, and working on your feet 90% of the time.
 
Equipment Operation
Vacuum machine, wax/buffer machine and various power tools.
 
Qualifications
Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks in the cleaning/general maintenance of the building and grounds. Able to follow written and oral assignments.
Be in good physical health and endurance due to some heavy lifting and on your feet most of the day.
 
The position is open until filled.  Hourly wage is $17.29.
Hinckley-Finlayson High School is looking for a dishwasher for the 2023-24 school year.  The hours of this position are as follows:  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:15 – 1:15/Wednesday will be from 9:45 – 12:45.  The candidate does not need experience in dishwashing, we will train.  This candidate will be working by themselves and with other kitchen staff throughout the lunch service time.  
 
This position will require some classes to be taken such as ‘Civil Rights Training,’ ‘Right to Know’ and ‘Blood-borne Pathogen’ training.  The candidate must follow the HACCP guidelines set forth by the district to work in a kitchen setting.
 
 Dishwasher – $15.80/hour.

Hinckley-Finlayson Public Schools is looking for Sub Bus AND Type 3 Drivers with growth potential.  Experience is preferred, but not necessary.  We will train.  Must be 18 years or older and possess a valid MN driver’s license with a good driving record.  Pay is below:
 
Sub Bus Driver – $50.00 / route
Sub Type 3 Driver – $17.29 / hour
