The Pine County Transition Program is dedicated to supporting students with special needs as they transition from high school to adulthood. Located in Hinckley, Minnesota, our program provides a supportive and inclusive environment where students can develop essential life skills and pursue their career goals.

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher (1.0 FTE) to join our team starting for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with diverse learning needs and will be committed to providing personalized instruction to support each student’s individual growth and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in both academic and life skills areas

  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed to ensure student success

  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field 

  • Valid special education teaching license from the state of Minnesota or willingness to obtain

  • Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a transition program or similar setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Support Staff Positions

Hinckley-Finlayson District Office is seeking an Administrative Assistant. 

Essential Functions

–  Provides front office operations, including greeting visitors, answering phone calls and processing incoming mail as needed.

– Assist the Superintendent with general administrative operations and special projects.

– Assist IT in district communications and maintaining website content, including the staff directory.

– Provide administrative support to the School Board.

– Prepare press releases and related correspondence. 

– Maintain purchasing records and assist departments with procurement procedures.

– Deposit district funds and maintain accurate cash receipt records

– Coordinate and manage School Board and special elections.

– Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of District Policy, Procedures Manual, and Updates

– Thorough knowledge of election procedures and social media platforms. 

– Thorough knowledge of standard office equipment, computer hardware and software.

– Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, students and parents.

Education and Experience

An Associate’s degree is required for the position or the candidate must successfully pass the ParaPro Test. Moderate experience in an office/secretarial setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Special Requirements

Election Clerk Training within one year.

 
Job Details
This position is full time and year round – benefits include health, dental, vision, 403B. Please see Support Staff Agreement for full details. This position is a Range VII Step 1 begins at $21.38.

Hinckley-Finlayson High School is seeking an Administrative Assistant.  Candidates for this position will work closely with the principal, counselor, social worker, dean of students and all staff to ensure a smooth running office.

Job Details:

This position is 182 days which includes 170 student days, an additional 4 days during the school year, an additional 6 days prior to the beginning of the school year and an additional 2 days at the end of the school year.  Starting wage would be $20.50 an hour and will be Range V in the support staff handbook.   

Job Duties:

  • Running the day to day operations of the high school office

  • Attendance/ attendance reporting

  • Monitor visitors

  • Assist high school principal and athletic director

  • Monitor sick room and dispense prescription and non prescriptions meds

  • Assist with graduation prep

Qualifications:  

A 2-year college degree is required for the position OR the candidate should successfully pass the ParaPro Test.  This test is available at the district.

Hinckley-Finlayson Schools are looking for bus para-professionals for the 2025-26 school year. The applicant hired for this position will work with students who have academic or behavioral needs.  Required qualifications include a 2-year college degree OR the ability to successfully pass the ParaPro Assessment. The Parapro test can be taken here and ISD2165 will reimburse for this testing fee after a 90 day probationary period. The starting wage would be $18.57 an hour,with the potential to go up from there, depending on school experience.

Hinckley Elementary School is looking for a Cook for the 2026-27 school year.  This position is a Monday through Friday position, 7 hour per day, that starts at 6:30 a.m.  
 
Job duties include, but are not limited to, cooking, baking, preparing breakfast and lunches for all of the HES students and occasional staff and then serving these meals. The candidate for this position will be assisting the lead cook with executing meal service. The assistant cook will look to you for guidance for their daily weekly duties. You would need to delegate some job duties to the assistant cook and dishwasher as needed.
